Friday was fun. We attended Lexi's fall party at her school. Alex enjoyed playing around outside. Of course he had to step into the only mud puddle in a 20 mile radius totally submerging his shoe, sock, and the bottom portion of his pants. We then made a Walmart run so that I could pick up new pants and socks for him.
Saturday dawned bright and early, starting off with a grocery run because I had to have some bottled water. We then went and ate at a place known for the original beanie burger (Burger with refried beans and nacho cheese). After that we went to Riverbend, a nature center that hosts a variety butterflies and plants. Alex enjoyed having the freedom to run around like crazy. He did manage to find an ant bed, but was only bitten by one ant. The nature center was fun and very beautiful.
Sunday morning Alex and I left for home. We stopped at Wendys near the Tangier Outlet stores. I unbuckled Alex in his car seat and before I had a chance to grab him, he leaned tried to get out himself and did a belly flop on the back floor board. Of course I died laughing as I picked him up and made sure he was okay. He didn't learn his lesson because he tried to throw himself out of my arms because he was so impatient to get out of the truck. Other than discovering that Alex loves Wendy's chicken nuggets and spotting my idea of a dream home, the ride was uneventful and only 6 hours long.
Today we have reveled in being home. Alex slept through the night with only a brief 10 minute wake up due around 10 due to an upset stomach. All day today he has been very happy, giggling like crazy and continuously bringing me toys to share. My favorite moments have been the constant hugs and snuggles before running off giggling. And of course, his favorite - climbing on the couch without assistance!
